Project: Desert Sand Powder coat of all major parts of AK airsoft rifle
Parts: Upper cover, Lower receiver, front gas block, rear gas block, trigger guard and folding stock
I was looking for a metal finishing company in the GTA that could do a small run of some pieces of my airsoft rifle. In airsoft, the color of most AEG’s (airsoft electric guns) are mostly black. A lot of airsofters like to use spray paint to add a colored finish to their rifles, but after a while it wears down quite quickly and it looks terrible.
I needed a wear resistant, tough coating that could outlast any canned spray. I found Quy’s Coatings through reading some local car forums. I took a look at the quality of work that Quy produced and I was really impressed.
I contacted Quy and he was very helpful and accommodating. I explained the job and we arranged to meet. Since my schedule was out of his regular business hours he rearranged his schedule to meet me on a Saturday. I was very impressed!! Most companies I’ve dealt with will not even speak to you unless you have a job of at least 50 pieces and never on a weekend. I met with Quy and he took me through some options I could use and we agreed on a color. He told me it was going to be ready next week sometime. I received a call 2 days later and it was complete; by far one of the fastest turnaround times I have ever experienced with a company. The parts turned out amazing and the coating is flawless. I plan do a couple of more custom pieces and I know that Quy Coatings will be doing all the work!!

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to write a quick review about my experience at Quy’s. First & foremost I am a very very picky person that needs things to come out exactly how I pictured them in my head. Quy was patient and helpful while we tried to get the exact color I was looking for on my brand new OZ Ultraleggera rims for my Subaru STI. Once we found the color, Quy had the materials shipped in, applied, and ready for pickup within 3 days! He’s quick to reply, the quality of work is spectacular and he goes above and beyond to keep his customers happy. I was so impressed I dropped off my down-pipe, uppipe, and headers all to get ceramic coated when I picked up the rims.
The color came out great and I get compliments everywhere I go with them. Thanks very much for your help everyone at Quy’s Coating!
